Mission-driven organizations deserve the best support to achieve their goals.
I’m here to help.
Meet Bekka Rosenbaum
With 15+ years in the non-profit world, I know the unique challenges you face as you serve your community.
I am a dedicated non-profit leader with extensive experience in workforce development, non-profit social services, and education. I believe passionately in the Jewish value of “Tikkun Olam” (“repairing the world”), and have dedicated my professional career to advancing economic and social justice. I’m also an outdoor enthusiast and rock climber, mother to a delightfully precocious little boy, world-traveler, and black belt in karate.
I started my career in the non profit world as a direct-service provider, first as a Vocational Counselor and then as the Program Coordinator for a flagship workforce development program in the Bay Area. Working directly with community members solidified my commitment to increasing access to opportunity and prosperity for people who have not just been left behind, but kept behind in our society.
I’ve moved through every level of management, from direct oversight of programs to strategic roles in business development and strategy. My career path gives me unique insight into the staff experience at different levels and impact areas of an organization, and helps me to understand how to approach challenges for different audiences.
My key skill sets are:
Strategic thinker; able to coach individuals and groups through complex processes and challenging situations
Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop trust and build relationships
Excellent facilitator, educator, and public speaker
Exceptional ability to synthesize and simplify complex information into understandable content for a variety of audiences
Whether you're a non-profit looking to expand your impact, a government agency aiming to improve workforce initiatives, or a business seeking to enhance your community engagement, I'm here to leverage my deep experience to help you navigate challenges and seize opportunities to make the world a better place for us all.
Why “still waters” consulting?
The name was inspired by the Wendell Berry poem “The Peace of Wild Things” as well as the commonly known phrase “still waters run deep”. The poem recognizes both the fraught nature of our world as well as the peace that is possible through an appreciation for nature. I want my consulting practice to reflect this reality: acknowledgement of social problems and injustice, and the hope and repair that can come from when we reach clarity in our path forward.
